Basic Classification of Steel Pipes

Steel pipes have hollow sections, and their length is much greater than steel with diameter or circumference. Steel pipes are not only used to transport fluids and powder solids, exchange thermal energy, and manufacture mechanical parts and containers. The steel pipe manufacturing building structure mesh, pillar, and mechanical brackets can reduce weight, save metals, and achieve factory-mechanized construction. Making road bridges with steel pipes can save steel and simplify construction and greatly reduce the area of the protective layer.

Classification

According to the Production Method

The steel pipe can be divided into two categories according to the production method: seamless steel pipes and welding steel pipes.

  1. The seamless steel pipe is made of high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel, which is divided into hot and cold rolling.
  2. Welded steel pipes are divided into furnace welding pipes, electrically welded tubes, and automatic arc welded pipes due to their welding processes. Welding pipes can be used for water transmission pipelines, gas pipes, heating pipes, electrical pipes, etc.
According to the Material

Steel pipes can be divided into alloy pipes, stainless steel pipes, etc. according to the material. The alloy pipe can be divided into low alloy tube, alloy structure tube, high alloy pipe, and high-intensity tube. Bearing tube, heat-resistant acid-resistant stainless tube, precision alloy tube, and high-temperature alloy tube.

According to the Usage
  1. Pipeline pipes. Such as water, gas pipes, and steam pipelines for seamless pipes, petroleum conversion pipes, and oil-natural gas trunk pipes.
  2. Thermal worker equipment. Such as the boiling water pipes and overheating steam pipes for available boilers, overheating pipes, large tobacco pipes, small tobacco pipes, arched brick pipes, and high-temperature and high-pressure boiler pipes for motorcycle boilers.
  3. Machinery industry tube. Such as aviation structure tubes, automotive semi-axis tubes, car shaft tubes, car tractor structural tubes, tractor oil cooler tubes, square tubes, rectangular tubes, transformer tubes, and bearing tubes.
  4. Petroleum geological drilling tube. Such as petroleum drill pipes, petroleum drill rods, drilling, petroleum pipes, petroleum sleeves, various pipe joints, and geological drilling pipes.
  5. Chemical industry tube. Such as petroleum cracking tubes, chemical equipment heat exchangers and pipelines, stainless acid pipes, high-pressure pipes for chemical fertilizers, and transportation of chemical medium.
